AAS 2007: The After Party

A pleasant surprise was thrown at all finalists of Anugerah Adiwarta Sampoerna 2007 at the end of the awarding night (Dec 7, 2007).

The previous media advisory released has stated that only the winners of AAS 2007 will receive 18-mio cash prize; while the rest of the finalists will only receive a certificate. However, before the awarding night is over, Sarah Sechan and Charles Bonar Sirait as the MC announced such a great news for all finalists.

Since PT HM Sampoerna Tbk. and Board of Judges were impressed by the quality of journalistic works the finalists have produced, each one of them will receive 3-mio cash prize apart from the AAS certificate!

Therefore, everyone was in the mood for a party!

It was 00:30 AM when Nia and I took a cab to Sarinah Thamrin for a cup of coffee. Yes, we haven’t got a chance to take a sip of coffee since early in the morning, and as coffee-addicts, we’re craving for some delicious espresso and mocha latte as a ‘closure’.

When we entered the crowded Ohlala cafe, we spotted 2 winners of AAS 2007: Adi Marsiela from Suara Pembaruan and Soleh Solihun from Playboy. They were having some meals and coffee with their friends; their faces were radiant It was like a small ‘media briefing’, because their friends were coming and leaving, congratulating them, one by one, until around 1:30 AM.

When Nia and I got back to the hotel at 2 AM, we met another winner, Kuncarsono from Surya, sat lazily on a couch in front of Kudus Bar. Wow, amazing. Everyone was still awake; including Agung Rahmadiansyah from Radar Surabaya who told us that he was throwing a party in his room with Raka Deny from Jawa Pos and another finalists.

Congratulations, all! You deserve a party!
