Up and Away for the Gauge Away Day!
Last Saturday, the Gauge team had an Away Day at Desa Gumati, Bogor. As a new addition to the staff, this was a new experience for me. I learned that Away Day is Maverick’s way to get away from the office and align our thoughts together for the future of the company, and of Gauge Media Monitoring division in this particular instance.
The day started off well, clear blue sky, with no traffic whatsoever. After donning our uniform Gauge t-shirts for the day (yay, free goodies!), we were ready to go. The drive from the office to Desa Gumati was filled with karaoke-ing cheesy old Indonesian pop songs that the bus had provided for us (thank you Mr. Bus Driver!) and as usual, talking while munching away the miles.
As we arrived at Desa Gumati we were greeted with rustic and unattended nature. A sight to behold, indeed. The theme for this year’s Gauge Away Day was “Moving Towards Gauge 2.0” and in line with that, the day was filled with games and group activities, in which we role-played as business owners of the future. Think “The Apprentice”, without the awful presence of Donald Trump and his ugly toupee for that matter.
One delightful surprise was our friend, Rina being announced as the first Maverick-Gauge Tracker of The Year. None can be more deserving than her to be awarded and acknowledge for all she has done over the course of the year. Thoughtful, diligent, cooperative, excellent team work and leadership, as well as attentive focus on her work are just a few attributes that make her the best this year.We salute you, Rina, if the prize has been cashed in, do let us know. You should definitely celebrate in style, with us of course.
The highlight of the day was for me, the Flying Fox, albeit not a very good flying fox, but everyone seemed to have a tremendous time on it, I know I did. Overall, it was a marvelous ending for what has come to be a great day away from the office.
May next year prove to be an even better one, Disneyland Hong Kong anyone?

Ooh Disneyland Hong Kong sounds good. Or Tokyo? Or a more Indonesian-skewed destination like the Komodo Island?
Way to go, Gauge. Congrats to Rina.
So what will Gauge 2.0 be like then?
