Maverick celebrates 6th anniversary

Exactly one week after the Maverick Night Fever Media Gathering 2008, the Mavericks went partying again. This time it was a specially organized event for all Mavericks, from the support staff, media trackers, to associates and Partners, to celebrate Maverick’s 6th anniversary.
Held at Maroush, Crowne Plaza, the evening was full of nice surprises, including live performances from the Mavericks, a special guest from Gavin Anderson, and the distribution of copies of a book on Maverickism. And you know what? Inside each copy were free vouchers for everyone. The highlight of the night was, of course, the Maverick Annual Talent Award. All Mavericks, except the Partners, were divided into 7 groups, each to give a four-minute performance, either live or taped.
Credibility on Facebook Groups
Most people would equate Facebook as good for personal social networking and little more. That it certainly is. But it also has more uses than just this, and corporations would do well to consider whether this medium could help them add to their arsenal of communications vehicles.
The Facebook Group feature provides opportunities for corporations to gather users with shared interests and causes. Facebook members can create a Group for any topic and Group creators are able to email (list serve) all group members for notifications and communicating to the entire group. For instance, in 2007, DKT Indonesia, a social marketer of Fiesta and Sutra condom, conducted the “National Condom Week”.

“Behind the Newsroom Door” with Dalton Tanonaka
“Television is for the eyes, broadcast is for the heart, and print is to stimulate thoughts,” Dalton Tanonaka, news anchor for Metro TV’s Indonesia Now remarked.
On May 15, 2008, American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) invited Dalton Tanonaka to a luncheon at Intercontinental Jakarta MidPlaza. He reported an overview of Indonesia’s press layout and its progress. Indonesia’s media coverage is heading towards the freedom of the press; yet Indonesian journalists are still hesitant to cover sensitive issues.
Dalton Tanonaka said Indonesia should follow in the footsteps of countries that express the freedom of the press by gradually breaking the conventional system. Being in a state of a conventional system does not help generate balanced report on Indonesia’s economic and political issues. Regardless of any political and economic interest, Indonesian journalists are encouraged to produce balanced news. To do so, Indonesian journalists are required to state the sources to support their arguments.
