Kompas Gramedia Launches Kompas.com Reborn

Kompas Gramedia on Thursday, May 29, 2008, launched Kompas.com Reborn in a ceremony at Hotel Mulia Senayan led by Minister of Communication and Informatics M. Nuh, Kompas Gramedia Chairman Jakob Oetomo and Kompas Gramedia CEO Agung Adiprasetyo. The grand launch marked the rebirth of Kompas.com that had gone through serious changes in layout, content management, format and features.

The transformation from Kompas Cyber Media to Kompas.com was a year-long process. Throughout the period Kompas.com planned its editorial content, built new infrastructure, increased its bandwidth and put its human resources in a single News Room. The new Kompas.com has a cleaner look than before. The layout optimizes readability while still retaining its artistic feel. The site utilizes complementing tones and well-structured format instead of the competing colors and cluttered format of rival news portals.

Click of The Week #38: Jurnalis NTT

 

Those of us living in Jakarta and the bigger cities tend to overlook perspectives from the other provinces. One of the great things about the Net is that it democratizes geography.

Jurnalis NTT is a blog from journalists at Pos Kupang, NTT, who modestly claim to be “Anakalo Faiwalu” or “Common People”. The blog is not an official Pos Kupang blog, so the journalists that contribute to it identify themselves as “Pos Kupang’s fans.”
