Maverick celebrates 6th anniversary

Exactly one week after the Maverick Night Fever Media Gathering 2008, the Mavericks went partying again. This time it was a specially organized event for all Mavericks, from the support staff, media trackers, to associates and Partners, to celebrate Maverick’s 6th anniversary.
Held at Maroush, Crowne Plaza, the evening was full of nice surprises, including live performances from the Mavericks, a special guest from Gavin Anderson, and the distribution of copies of a book on Maverickism. And you know what? Inside each copy were free vouchers for everyone. The highlight of the night was, of course, the Maverick Annual Talent Award. All Mavericks, except the Partners, were divided into 7 groups, each to give a four-minute performance, either live or taped.
Up and Away for the Gauge Away Day!
Last Saturday, the Gauge team had an Away Day at Desa Gumati, Bogor. As a new addition to the staff, this was a new experience for me. I learned that Away Day is Maverick’s way to get away from the office and align our thoughts together for the future of the company, and of Gauge Media Monitoring division in this particular instance.
The day started off well, clear blue sky, with no traffic whatsoever. After donning our uniform Gauge t-shirts for the day (yay, free goodies!), we were ready to go. The drive from the office to Desa Gumati was filled with karaoke-ing cheesy old Indonesian pop songs that the bus had provided for us (thank you Mr. Bus Driver!) and as usual, talking while munching away the miles.
The Boot Camp Story
How can you tell if an organization is serious about developing its employees? For consultancies like Maverick, people is a tremendously important asset for the company. Consultancy is a people business, and the growth of a company is significantly determined by the quality of its people.
At Maverick, we consider developing our employees a priority. Earlier this year we launched a ‘training passport’, which essentially consists of compulsory training materials for all of our consultants. These training materials are divided into periods, i.e. for entry-level consultants, they are required to undertake twelve training sessions in the first three months of joining Maverick.
